Production & analysis system

Solution for product quality control systems designed for application in mining, processing and steel industries

KONSOM SKS presents an innovative solution for product quality control systems designed for application in mining, processing and steel industries.

“Production & Analysis System stands for an accurate real-time analysis of a batch of materials, as well as a reliable control over the product quality and the production process”

Applications

1

Ensures online monitoring of incoming and outgoing bulk materials

2

Being a part of the process control system, it ensures an automatic control over dosing and handling equipment

3

Helps build a 3D model showing the distribution of the monitored chemical elements and carry out a more accurate chemical analysis of bulk materials stored in piles and hoppers; helps generate supporting documentation

Functionalities

Online monitoring of the chemical composition of material transported by the conveyor belt
Determination of the average concentrations of elements in bulk material stored in hoppers
Controlled dosing of consumables to ensure a consistent chemical composition of the final product

Description

X-Ray Fluorescence is used to monitor the concentration of chemical elements in the material transported by the conveyor belt. The characteristic radiation indicating how many chemical elements are contained in the material occurs during exposure to an X-ray tube when radiation hits a silicon drift detector cooled by a thermoelectric cooler.

The measured data are stored in the analyzer memory and are then transferred to the programme. The information about the chemical composition of the raw material serves as the basis for calculating the average chemical composition of the material in the hopper and for dosing consumables in order to obtain the desired quality in the final product.

Tasks performed

Acquisition, processing and storing of incoming data from the analyzer and related process control systems
Online monitoring of the chemical composition of materials transported by the conveyor belt
Calculation of the average chemical composition of a batch, a pile or bulk material in a bin
Controlled dosing to ensure consistent chemical composition in the final product
Detecting and recording system events and failures (event logging)
Signaling out-of-range values of the monitored elements
Building current and history trends
Convenient data visualization for the users (mnemocircuits)
Report generation

Implementation stages

1

Inspection: The aim of this action is to understand if PAK is applicable and what configuration of the system would be optimum for a particular application

2

Preparation of a statement of work

3

Build a pilot model of the system that would be tailored for a particular application

4

Design and integrate the system

5

Software, hardware and procedural support provided as part of a year-long

6

Post-warranty support

Advantages

More accurate and faster analysis to determine the average chemical composition of a raw material batch or a final product batch
No human factor involved in chemical monitoring
Optimized real-time control over material flows and the batching process
Fully automatic operation, no need for results interpretation
Prompter and more representative results
